Welcome to the Public Interest Journalism training!

About This Training

For decades, journalists have uncovered cases of corruption, fraud, human rights abuses, and other wrongdoings of public interest. Today, presenting this information accurately while also capturing the public’s attention has become a daunting task. Our training methodology combines these essential elements. You will learn about ‘Story-Based Inquiry,’ an investigative approach that focuses on telling a story rather than simply listing facts.

By selecting a case of your own choosing, you will develop a hypothesis, find open and human sources to verify it and learn to organize and fact-check your information. Additionally, RNTC’s Core Theory will provide you with storytelling techniques to craft engaging and persuasive narratives. By the end of the training, you will have a concrete plan and the necessary tools to independently continue your investigation and, most importantly, tell the story that the public needs to know!
