The Decision Tree

The decision tree can function to decide whether or not you want to make use of the digital environment to create impact. In this approach, you go through different go/no-go moments to critically think whether making use of digital communities will lead to the social change you intend to make and if you have the resources to do so. If your organisation does not require digital tools/channels to make your desired impact, and you don’t have the available resources and/or partners, you can look into alternative non-digital ways to create social change.

Is building a digital community the right method to achieve your desired goal?

Use the decision tree to guide your process/your team’s process of deciding on whether or not to use a digital community. Use your learning journal to note your answers or questions you may have.

Tip! In the development of steps 1 and 2 of the roadmap you will have produced a country context analysis and a Theory of Change. These two outputs are good to have with you as you run through the decision tree questions.
