Welcome to the 8th module on your journey to building digital communities for social change: refer young people to services.

Purpose

Through our platforms young people access relevant information, discuss topics that matter to them and share diverse opinions and aspirations. Through their engagement on your digital platforms, needs or issues of young people might surface that cannot be addressed by your organisation. In these cases, where you need specialised knowledge or expertise, you can refer young people to external services or resources.

In this module we will guide you through the service provision and service referral model of Love Matters. It covers the process of identifying the needs of young people that require referral to services providers. In addition, it details the methods of referral as well as how to map and assess service providers to whom you refer youth. It highlights the importance of assessing whether youth health services are actually youth-friendly. The module concludes with a number of examples of referral methods that have been applied in different Love Matter projects.
