PMEL at RNW Media Copy

RNW Media’s PMEL consists of a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection, and analysis methods from both digital and non-digital sources. Data is collected on output level to be able to show how many people are reached globally, and how they engage with our platforms. Data is also collected on outcome level, to show the longer-term effects of our projects on the people we reach and the societies in which they live.

Strategic Framework
A programme’s strategic framework is the foundation for PMEL. Strategic frameworks come in different shapes and sizes, but a good one always contains specific intervention strategies that link to clearly defined objectives in a logical way and within a set timeframe. In RNW Media, we generally use Theories of Change (ToCs) or logical frameworks (logframes).

Because a PMEL framework stands or falls with a programme’s strategic framework, it is highly recommended to involve a PMEL specialist in its design. They can keep an eye on the feasibility of strategic objectives and the logic that links interventions to outcomes.
