Welcome to module 7.2 on your journey to building digital communities for social change.
In module 7 of the roadmap we focus on content creation and moderation. These two elements are key to building engaged communities. But if these were the bricks in our strong community building, then the cement that keeps them together is our Inclusive Approach. This section will look at our approach to moderate and support engagement among our inclusive communities. To support these two pillars of content creation and moderation, it is also essential to build in more technical understanding on how to serve content to an audience, making use of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) strategies.

Purpose
Our online and offline platforms provide a place for young women and men from diverse backgrounds to unite around issues of common interests. On these platforms, young people from disparate groups can express a wide range of viewpoints on issues that are most relevant to them. We create open and inclusive communities in which young people can discuss political and social issues in a positive, constructive manner.
This section details our strategic approach to creating inclusive civic spaces and online community building with young people in restrictive settings through engagement techniques, such as moderation. In the last chapter of this module, we will address how Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) works to ensure more relevance and greater engagement.

There are many three-letter acronyms in this unit. To keep track of the different terms, create a glossary for yourself as an easy reference point. It will come in use as you complete the activities. If you get a little lost, click here for a glossary that can help you find definitions for confusing terms.
