Welcome to module 7.1 on your journey to building digital communities for social change: create pluralistic content. 

In Module 7, you were introduced to the specific Citizens Voice Inclusive Approach in developing content. In this section, we broadly look at ways to build engaging content.


Purpose

Citizens Voice and Love Matters use content to attract young people to their platforms. This content may be to inform, entertain or teach. RNW Media uses the Persuasive storytelling methodology to create content that engages their audience. This methodology is divided into 4 Content pillars:

  • Know your Target Audience;
  • Persuade your Target Audience;
  • Storytelling for Audience engagement;
  • Creative Formats where you can explore different mediums like online platforms (such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook) and traditional forms of storytelling using video, voice, print or visual as ways to package your persuasive story.

Learning Goals

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • know how to apply methodologies to map and determine target audiences
  • be aware of the key elements of persuasion
  • be aware of the persuasive storytelling methodology as a way to build engaging content
  • identify the eight essential elements of storytelling
  • be aware of the formats to present stories in world of traditional and online media
