Welcome to the RNTC Online Training Guide!
This course covers the key elements of planning and running an RNTC-approved online training.
With 50 years of experience in journalistic training, RNTC is an expert in delivering accredited courses to media-makers around the world. We have trained participants from and in developing and fragile contexts as well as the developed world. We are skilled at training journalists and media makers in understanding key development issues and training them to tell these stories more powerfully through traditional channels (print, radio and television) and digital channels (web content, tweets, blogs and vlogs). In developing and fragile contexts there is often a need for both.
RNTC offers concrete steps for critically minded media-makers to turn their aspirations into realities and act as guardians of public interest. Our training empowers media-makers to develop successful creative content and media formats that facilitate dialogue and debate among young people and those in power. Market segments that were trained by RNTC include: media outlets, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, think tanks, universities, and governments.
We work at the intersection of tradition and digital media, civil society and advocacy. As a result of our trainings, strategic partnerships and global networks, we create an enabling environment for media landscapes to be pluralistic, independent, capable and inclusive of citizens’ needs. Citizens access quality content and engage in discussion through media campaigns, to make important life decisions and hold decision makers to account.
This guide focuses on online training and it provides an overview of the elements required to maintain a quality standard. The four sections are:
