Phase 1: Preparation

The Preparation Phase consists of gathering all the background information needed to develop the learning solution. It includes collecting information about the target audience, the need for the solution, the history of the solution within RNW Media, existing connected solutions, etc. This is intended to be the quickest phase in the process.

1. Collect Key Information

Ensure you have all the information needed before starting the design process:

These points might be clear from the initial request you received. If they are not, ask the appointed Learning Experience Coordinator or the Project Lead.

TO DO: Once you have gathered the information above, complete the Training Request section of the Learning Solutions Co-Creation Template. This will be useful for your future meetings with the SME.

2. Do your Research

Research the topic internally and externally, and keep a personal record of your findings:

  • Internally, check RNW Media’s Solutions Portfolio to identify potential connected solutions. Additionally, look in Sharepoint for past iterations of the course or materials that show an existing approach to the topic.
  • Externally, look for reliable sources that could help later on. The aim is to familiarise yourself with the topic and understand key concepts and jargon.
