Finalise your action plan

You have now concluded the section on Advocacy. This consisted in an introduction to advocacy, focusing on the definition of advocacy, the different advocacy forms and relation to decision makers, the importance of legitimacy and the different steps in developing an advocacy strategy. You have learned that it is important to invest time in identifying and selecting the right issue, to develop SMART objectives, build partnerships and develop effective messages.

With these basic tools and knowledge, you can start applying it to your own situation and start building your own advocacy strategy and advocacy plan (which starts at step 7 of your advocacy strategy). Below you’ll find a template for a workplan per advocacy objective to apply your learning in your practice.
